What is APFSUserAgent on Mac?
APFS user agent · seed · quit hint: caution
APFSUserAgent is a macOS process (listed here as APFS user agent). People usually find it in Activity Monitor when asking “what is this process?”
What does APFSUserAgent do?
APFSUserAgent watches IOKit for new APFS containers and volume hash mismatches, and can present a DiskUnlock dialog for encrypted volumes. It runs as a per-user Aqua agent when APFS containers appear. You need it to be prompted to unlock encrypted APFS volumes and to see related APFS integrity notifications; quitting delays those prompts until the agent relaunches.

Is it safe to quit APFSUserAgent?
Hint: caution. SystemWoe Free and Pro use keep-guards so you don’t blindly kill something important — Pro adds force-terminate only with confirmation.
