Defaults

SystemWoe does not automatically upload your list of running processes. Catalog updates download to your Mac when you choose to refresh. Suggestions you send are always opt-in.

What a submission contains

When you suggest an encyclopedia improvement, we receive the process name and related identifiers you provide (with sensitive command-line values removed), plus the title, summary, and category you wrote. We do not include full command-line values, environment variables, screenshots, or unrelated processes by default.

Knowledge catalog

The app may download catalog updates over HTTPS so process explanations stay current. Updates are verified before use. If a download fails or you are offline, the app keeps your last good catalog.

Pro local history

SystemWoe Pro may keep a local SQLite history of host and top-process metrics under a user-configurable disk cap (default about 100 MB). That database is not uploaded by default. You can pause, clear, or export it. Path boards only retain sessions you started with Sample / Watch — History never auto-traces files.

Pro integrations (optional)

When enabled in Settings → Integrations, Pro may serve Prometheus metrics and a read-only MCP endpoint on 127.0.0.1 only. Optional bearer tokens stay on your Mac. There is no cloud metrics sink.

Licensing & updates (Pro)

Pro license activation contacts our license service to validate a key (Paddle fulfillment). App updates use Sparkle. Free updates through the Mac App Store.

Children

SystemWoe is a productivity / developer utility and is not directed at children. No account is required for Free catalog sync.
